It had never occurred to Kya that she did not have to go it alone. She always thought she would do things her way and everyone would be better for it. Then she found a kindred soul, and everything changed. Yet she found that she had the tiniest of doubts. She could be happy at last. They could be happy together and everything would be okay, or would it? She knew it was a lie. He wasn’t even remotely interested in being happy for one, and if he did it wouldn’t be with her. She was one of many, how many she didn’t know and chose not to. It meant everything to be here in this big city with its bright lights. It made her feel like she could be happy if she only chose it. After showering she went to the bed, her eyes moving over the dresses she had laid out. Too cute? Too Halloweeie? Too sexy? Disgusted, she took her coffee to the balcony to enjoy the sunset. She could text him and say no but then what? There would always be another girl, eager to please. She was more than ready. She didn’t even know whose idea it had been. Had he said something, and she pounced on it? Had she thought it up? It didn’t matter, she was about to meet him for the first time. Her phone lit up and she smiled. He was ready. She felt a tiny spark of happiness and decided on the sexy costume. What did it matter when she wouldn’t be wearing it for very long? She drank down her lukewarm coffee and went back inside to get ready. He had mentioned dinner and she thought that a proper date beforehand would be good. Her fantasies had never included dinner before or even after. Just back alley rutting, bathroom stalls and being bent over his desk. Oh, she was more than ready. She took a last longing look at the room. Her things laid out as if she was going to come back to them and she wondered not for the first time what would happen to her things? Taken to lost and found after being searched for goodies? Sent home when they found her address? She had been careful not to tell anyone where she was going. Everyone would know soon anyway. She was almost giddy as she went down in the beautifully appointed elevator and happy with her choice of costume. She almost felt pretty as she walked through the hotel lobby out into the warm fall air. You wouldn’t even have known it was Halloween in Las Vegas, it was so devoid of decorations. She had noted that on the drive to the hotel, how many of the homes had no lights or even pumpkins. The hotel itself had only orange and cranberry flowers and gourds laid out on pretty tables. She almost wished she was home so she could soak up the heavily decorated yards of her neighborhood. A horn honked and she almost jumped a foot as he pulled up to the curb. Her heart slammed in her chest. He was so handsome and she wanted to hug him right there but knew better of it. They said their pleasantries and off they went. His favorite place to eat was a sushi bar and Kya was almost sad as she picked at her noodles. The conversation was easy and the eye contact heavy. A new fantasy of fucking on the restaurant table popped into her head, making her blush. If he noticed her blush he didn’t say so, and soon she was paying for the bill, even though she had eaten nothing. Was she feeling afraid? How could she? She wanted this, needed it. Back in the car, she watched him, drinking in his profile. She felt nervous as they pulled up the house and she was surprised to see a few pumpkins and some cobwebs. Did he do that for her or for the trick or treaters? She didn’t ask as they got out and he showed her around. He made them drinks and she went straight for the couch she had been dreaming of doing it on since the moment she had laid eyes on it. Back when he had a girlfriend and everyone thought they would be together forever. He ducked out and she drank in the feel of the room. They Grey walls and the gray wooden flooring. She downed her drink and poured herself another. The whiskey burned her throat and she almost jumped when his cold hands found her bare shoulders. Her big blue eyes slipped shut as she let the moment happen. Maybe he would change his mind and they could just hang out before he sent her on her way, no more broken than she already was. He’d put on his makeup, not the full outfit and she understood that. It somehow felt right. She handed him his drink and he finished it before setting it aside. Their eyes met and suddenly he was kissing her, his fingers stroking his throat. He paused, her heart sank as he moved away from her. Across the room, he picked up a plastic bowl of candy and went out front to place it near the door. She smiled at this sweet gesture because he hated holidays. Perhaps it was just another trapping to set the mood? Once he returned he poured them each another drink, sitting with his legs over hers. If they were going to change their minds then now would be the time. Warmed by the liquor in her belly, she moved so that she could lean over and kiss him deeply. He didn’t resist her and she quickly let her full weight fall onto him. They kissed, hands straying to places that needed to be touched and again she wondered if she should stop this. Too many people needed them and maybe that was the problem, you can’t save anyone when you cant even save yourself. “Are you ready?” “More than you know?” “You can say no.” “So can you.” Kya silenced him with a long kiss. “I can’t let you do it alone.” She slowly got off him, taking his hand. She lost herself in his gaze and let him lead her. Her eyes went to the darkened space above them. The empty bedroom and studio space. How long since he had last been up there? She had avoided the chats just to keep her secret she didn’t trust herself not to spill. He led her not up the stairs, but instead into the darkened garage. She let go of his hand and thoughts of doing it on the hood came unbidden to her mind. Ignoring the camera she got into the back seat. Her skin crawled as she tried not to think. He handed her another bottle, it burned her throat. He opened the door and turned on the engine with that soft sigh and she knew it was right. She waited for him to shut the door and get into the back of the car with her. They passed the bottle back and forth until fell empty onto the floorboards. His hands were now all over her and she couldn’t stop herself, she was tugging at his fly, happy to have worn the easy access dress. He pulled the dress off while kissing her throat and she was soon wet. She wanted to do all the things she had dreamed of doing to him but didn’t know if they had time. She went with it and was soon sitting on him, rocking back and forth as his fingers found the most sensitive places. She exploded as their mingled moans filled the car. Was she feeling anything but the heat between her legs? His mouth against her hot skin. He pushed her down onto the seat and she felt almost sick. Had he taped the door? She didn’t care as another orgasm ripped through her. She wrapped her arms and legs around his back as he came inside her. She thought he was done but within a few moments he was hard as a rock and she felt him enter her once again. Was she feeling tired? Was he slowing his pace? “I love you,” she whispered into his ear. “I know.” He kissed her forehead.
She drifted off to sleep in his arms with a smile on her face. It was Halloween, and she’d finally found the peace she’d been craving all of her life. The Trick or Treaters would come and clean out the bowl and friends wouldn’t be concerned for at least a day. The only thing the others got was a deleted tweet and one last video of two dark shapes inside the back of his car.
